The key visual design draws inspiration from cartographic styles of Ming and Qing dynasty world maps—specifically Wang Pan's World Map (Joseon Hand-drawn Copy with Additions)—capturing the rendered textures of oceans, lands, and spatial toponyms. The map outlines the original coastline of the Kowloon Peninsula where the museum sits. Typography takes cues from the English script treatment in the Qing Map of Hetao, infusing street culture flair into modern typography. Furthermore, the geometric dot-and-square location markers from the Atlas of Early Qing Administrative Maps (Henan Region) echo the grid-like forms of Hong Kong road signs. Together, these historical elements construct an antique map of a modern metropolis, taking viewers on a time-traveling journey through past and present.
